Subtle Differences in Energy Healing

Energy healing or work is a vast technique of healing using energy to balance and awaken your chakras and auras. The vastness of energy healing is best described as an expansive tree with hundreds of roots and branches. With every branch and root representing a different energy healing modality. Each root and branch is just as valid as all the others. Most have overlapping beliefs and techniques. Reiki is the most well known of these modalities. Other modalities include Healing Touch, Rosen Method, and Munay Ki. Any modality of energy healing can assist with stress, anxiety, peace of mind, motivation, even physical ailments.
All energy healing modalities use energy, involve grounding, and use energy systems such as chakras and auras. That’s what they have in common, amongst many other similarities. It gets interesting when you look at the subtle differences in the modalities. Such as physical contact versus no contact at all, distance healing versus being in the room, only touch certain chakras, and so many more.
Physical contact is the most well known of the differences in modalities. Most people believe that energy doesn’t need a physical touch, or even to be the same room. This technique involves hands hovering over the body, moving energy that way. Another technique that involves no physical contact is distance/remote healing, where you don’t have to be in the same room. You simply call or video and do a healing that way. There are some that believe not only physical contact is essential but constant contact. That using almost if not all the senses is required in a healing. When you start you gently place hands on the person and throughout the healing at least one point of contact at all times. It is believed that if you stop the physical contact you break the energetic connection.
Another school of thought is only touching certain chakras. Certain modalities believe that the throat, brow and crown chakra are too sensitive and emit too much energy to have direct contact during a healing. While modalities such as Reiki touch are comfortable touching every chakra. All modalities agree touching the root chakra is inappropriate due to its intimate location at the base of the spine.
Even with these differences each modality is sacred and just as effective as any other. It demonstrates that whatever you vibe with, whatever resonates within you is exactly what you need to heal. Through the moving of energy it allows you to heal yourself.
