Your Offer: Community Acupuncture+
A wonderful group activity, a great way for families or friends to spend time together.
What is Community Acupuncture +?
Community Acupuncture + is acupuncture done in a multi-patient setting where all patients receive acupuncture at the same time. This setting provides an affordable alternative to individual acupuncture, optimizing the patient health benefits while lowering barriers to treatment. The “+” is the addition of advanced health technologies such as Microcurrent Therapy, Far Infrared heat, Reiki, Homeopathy, and more.
At Bhakti Community Acupuncture + (BCA), treatments are offered every Saturday by Laura Rawson, a Licensed Acupuncturist with 20 years of experience. In our clinic, zero gravity reclining chairs are arranged in an open room with soft music playing to provide a quiet, soothing space for healing. Treatments take place fully clothed—needles maybe placed in the ears and below the knees and elbows where many of the most powerful points are located. People typically rest for 30-60 minutes as the needles do their work.
Treating patients in a community setting has many benefits: it is easy for friends and family members to come in for treatment together, many patients find it comforting to be in the presence of others, and it allows us to offer the most affordable care. We talk in low voices in the community room in order to respect privacy.
Acupuncture is effective in relieving health problems that range from chronic pain to substance addiction to other common ailments. We use sterile, stainless steel needles that are used only once and then disposed of. This centuries-old method of treatment has proven to have the most beneficial and long-lasting effect with a series of treatments, and community acupuncture allows patients to come in regularly at an affordable rate.
Ø We have a sliding scale – for after your groupon visits to continue care
We have a sliding scale of $20-$40. You decide what you can afford. Proof of income is never required. There is a one-time paperwork fee of $10 due at your first appointment.
At BCA, the way we make acupuncture affordable and still making a living ourselves is to see multiple patients per hour. Because we have a sliding scale, we are unable to bill insurance (per rules of insurance companies). If you have insurance, we will be happy to give you a payment receipt for you to submit.
BCA does not receive grants, state or federal money, or insurance reimbursements. BCA exists because patients pay for their treatments. Such is the nature of a sustainable community-based model.
